Lactose monohydrate, USP-NF, Ph.Eur., JP. In the USP-NF, SuperTab® SD grades are referred to in the lactose monohydrate monograph as “modified”. White, odourless, free flowing powder.

Benefits
SuperTab® SD grades have excellent flow properties because the particles have a narrow size distribution. The particles consist of fine crystals of α-lactose monohydrate and amorphous lactose to ensure compactibility. The particle structure affords excellent blend and tablet content uniformity. SuperTab® SD grades have excellent compactibility and low lubricant sensitivity.

Tablet hardness and thickness are not very sensitive to compression speed.
